Wasp Solitaire

Fluid Card Movement • 4-Suit Strategy • No Blocked Piles
Wasp Solitaire

Wasp Solitaire is a dynamic, fast-moving logic game that offers more freedom than traditional Spider. Its greatest feature? You can move any face-up card regardless of what is on top of it. This makes it a perfect choice for players who love deep planning without the frustration of blocked sequences.

How to Play

1

The Layout

One deck (52 cards) is dealt into four columns of 7 cards and three columns of 8 cards. Only the last three cards of the first four columns are face-down; all others are face-up.

2

Suit Foundations

Unlike standard solitaire, there are no separate foundation piles. You must build complete descending sequences (King down to Ace) of the same suit directly within the tableau columns.

3

Fluid Movement

This is the "Wasp" secret: any face-up card can be moved to another column as long as it is placed on a card one rank higher (e.g., a 7 on an 8). The suit doesn't matter for the move, but it matters for the win!

4

Winning the Game

The game is won when you have organized the entire deck into four completed same-suit sequences. Empty columns can be filled by any card or group of cards.

Rules Insight

How is Wasp different from Spider?
In Spider, you can only move "in-suit" sequences. In Wasp, you can move any group of cards, which makes it significantly more solvable and faster to play.

Top Tip:
Think of the tableau as one giant puzzle. Because you can move any card, the only real "traps" are placing a card where it can never be removed. Plan your King placement carefully!
