How to Play

1

The Double Setup

Two decks (104 cards) are used. A 13-card reserve pile is dealt, followed by a tableau of several columns. The first card moved to the foundations sets the "base rank" for the entire game.

2

8 Foundations

Build the eight foundation piles up by suit. If the base rank is a 4, you build 4, 5, 6... up to King, then wrap to Ace, 2, and 3. You must complete two full sets for each suit.

3

Tableau Rules

Build tableau columns down by alternating color (e.g., a Black Jack on a Red Queen). Only the top card of a column or the reserve is available for play.

4

Stock & Reserve

Cards from the stock are dealt to the waste pile. Empty tableau spaces must be filled by the top card of the reserve until it is empty. Afterward, any card can fill a space.

Tactical Insights

How difficult is Waning Moon?
It is a high-difficulty variant due to the volume of cards and the wrap-around foundation rules. Patience and foresight are key.

Pro Tip:
Always check if a card from the reserve can be played to a foundation before moving it to the tableau. Keeping the tableau "clean" is vital in two-deck games.
