The Nation

Precise Placement • Foundation Mastery • Pure Card Logic
The Nation Solitaire

The Nation is a refined solitaire experience that strips away the distractions of complex tableau building. Your mission is simple but profound: organize a standard deck into four foundations, rank by rank. Success depends entirely on your ability to look ahead and place cards into temporary waste columns without blocking your own progress.

How to Play

1

Establish the Foundations

Four foundation piles are located at the top. You must build these up in suit, starting from Ace and ending with King (A, 2, 3... K).

2

Manage the Columns

Cards are dealt from the stock one by one. If a card cannot go directly to a foundation, it must be placed into one of the four waste columns below.

3

One-Way Traffic

You can only move the top card of a waste column to a foundation. You cannot move cards between waste columns, so choose your placements carefully!

4

Exhaust the Stock

The game continues until the stock is empty. If all cards are moved to the foundations, the Nation is complete and you've won.

Citizen's Guide

Is there a limit to waste column size?
No, you can stack as many cards as you like in the four columns, but remember: only the top card is ever accessible.

What happens if I get stuck?
If the stock is empty and no top cards in the waste columns can be moved to the foundations, the game is over. Strategy is the only way out!
