How to Play

1

The Threes Foundation

In Storehouse, foundations start with the four Threes. Build them up by suit (3, 4, 5... through King, then Ace, then 2) to win the game.

2

The Storehouse Reserve

Thirteen cards are dealt into a reserve pile (the Storehouse). Only the top card is available. Your primary objective is to move these cards to the foundations or the tableau.

3

Tableau Building

Build the four tableau piles down by suit (e.g., a Spade 7 on a Spade 8). Unlike other games, suit matters here! You can move only single cards between columns.

4

Unlimited Stock Passes

Deal cards from the stock three at a time (or one, depending on settings). Most versions allow unlimited passes, making this a game of "when" rather than "if" you can find a move.

Why does it start on Threes?
It’s a quirk of the Storehouse variant that adds a layer of difficulty. You must find the 3s before you can start building, which usually requires digging through the reserve.

Is it similar to Canfield?
Very! If you like Canfield, you’ll find Storehouse familiar, but the suit-based building in the tableau makes it a unique challenge.
