How to Play

1

The 10-Column Deal

All 52 cards are dealt face-up into 10 columns. The layout is staggered, with the first column receiving one card and the following columns receiving more, until the board is full.

2

Building the Tableau

Build the tableau columns down in rank using alternating colors (e.g., a Black 9 on a Red 10). Only the top-most card of each column is available for movement.

3

Foundation Goal

Your objective is to move all cards to the four foundation piles, starting with the Aces. Build these up by suit (Ace to King).

4

Empty Column Freedom

When a column is completely emptied, you can fill it with any available card. These empty spaces are the most powerful tool for reorganizing your board.

Strategic Insights

How hard is Somerset?
It is moderately difficult. Success relies heavily on the opening layout. Since there is no "luck of the draw," Somerset is considered a pure logic puzzle.

Top Tip:
Don't move a card to the foundation just because you can. Sometimes, a card is more useful staying in the tableau to help build a sequence that unblocks another pile.
