Scarab Solitaire

Scarab Solitaire is a high-octane, two-deck game designed for those who find standard Spider Solitaire too simple. Featuring 10 tableau columns and a massive pool of 104 cards, it requires players to build complete suit sequences amidst a board full of half-hidden cards. It is a game of patience, sharp eyes, and ruthless calculation.

How to Play

1

The 10-Column Deal

Fifty-four cards are dealt into ten columns. Similar to Spider, some cards are face-up and some are face-down. The remaining 50 cards form the stock.

2

Build by Rank

Move any face-up card onto another that is one rank higher (e.g., any 9 onto any 10), regardless of suit. However, suit matters for sequence movement!

3

Sequence Movement

You can only move a group of cards if they are in a perfect descending sequence of the same suit. Non-matching stacks can be broken, but they cannot be moved together.

4

Clear the Suits

When you complete a sequence from King down to Ace in the same suit, it is removed from the board. Clear all 8 sequences to win the game.

Scarab Intelligence

How does it differ from Spider?
Scarab is almost identical in mechanics to Spider, but the name is often used for specific variations in dealing or difficulty settings. It remains one of the most popular two-deck challenges online.

Is it possible to lose?
Absolutely. Scarab is known for its high difficulty. Success depends on the stock deal and your ability to keep columns open for maneuverability.
