How to Play

1

Select the Base

Eleven cards are dealt to a reserve (the Terrace). You must choose one of the next available cards to be the "base" card for your 8 foundations. All foundations will start at this rank.

2

The Nine Tableau Columns

Nine columns are dealt with one card each. Build down in alternating colors. Unlike Klondike, you can only move one card at a time between columns.

3

Utilize the Terrace

The top card of the 11-card reserve (Terrace) can be played to the foundations or the tableau. Freeing up these cards is the only way to win the game.

4

Build the Foundations

Build the 8 foundations up by suit, wrapping from King back to Ace if necessary, until each pile contains 13 cards.

Palace Wisdom

Is it the same as Terrace?
Yes, Queen of Italy is one of the most popular names for the game Terrace. The rules regarding the choice of foundation base and the reserve are identical.

What is the win rate?
It is considered a medium-to-hard game. Because the stock is only dealt through once, your initial choice of the foundation base rank is the most important factor in winning.
