Pyramid Solitaire

Pyramid Solitaire is a world-famous puzzle that turns card sorting into a mathematical challenge. Dealt into a 28-card triangle, your goal is to dismantle the structure by pairing cards that sum exactly to 13. It is fast-paced, addictive, and requires a sharp eye for both numbers and hidden opportunities.

How to Play

1

The Target Number: 13

Remove pairs of cards whose combined value equals 13. Number cards are face value, Aces are 1, Jacks are 11, and Queens are 12. Kings are worth 13 and can be removed alone!

2

Unblock the Rows

You can only remove cards that are "open"—meaning no other cards are overlapping them from the row below. Work your way from the bottom row up to the single card at the peak.

3

Use the Stock

Cards not in the pyramid form the stock. Flip them to find the "missing half" of a pair you need to clear a card from the pyramid structure.

4

The Goal

The game is won when the entire pyramid of 28 cards is cleared. Some variations also require clearing the stock, but the "Normal" goal is the peak of the pyramid!

Pharaoh's Wisdom

What are the card values?
Ace = 1, Jack = 11 (pairs with 2), Queen = 12 (pairs with Ace), King = 13 (clears itself). All other cards are their face value.

Is it possible to be stuck?
Yes. Pyramid has a relatively low win rate compared to other solitaires because a single buried card can make its "mate" inaccessible. Success comes from careful management of the stock deck.
