How to Play

1

The Layout

Fifteens is played with a standard deck. Sixteen cards are dealt face-up into a 4x4 grid. The rest of the cards form the stock pile.

2

Find Your Fifteens

Select any group of cards whose values total exactly 15. For example: 7 and 8, or 5, 4, and 6. Once selected, they are removed from the grid.

3

The Face Card Rule

Tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings cannot be matched with numbers. You must find a set of four matching face cards (e.g., four Jacks or four Tens) to clear them together.

4

Clear the Deck

Empty spaces in the grid are automatically filled from the stock. You win the game if you successfully clear the entire deck by making valid combinations.

Common Questions

What values do the cards have?
Numbered cards (Ace-9) carry their face value (Ace is 1). Tens and Face cards are cleared only in groups of four of a kind.

Is every game winnable?
Fifteens is a game of chance as much as skill. If you run out of possible combinations of 15 and the stock is empty, the game ends. Efficiency is key!
