Falling Star Solitaire

Falling Star Solitaire is a high-stakes strategic game that revolves around a central 13-card reserve pile. By combining elements of classic foundation building with a tight tableau, players must carefully plan every move to prevent the reserve from being blocked. It’s a favorite for those who enjoy "tight" logic puzzles.

How to Play

1

The Star Layout

Four tableau columns are dealt with one card each. A 13-card reserve pile (the "Star") is dealt to the side. The first card moved to the foundations sets the base rank for all four suits.

2

Foundation Logic

Build the foundations up by suit, wrapping from King to Ace if the base rank requires it. If the base rank is a 7, you build: 7, 8... K, A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

3

Tableau Maneuvers

Build the tableau down by alternating color (e.g., a Red 9 on a Black 10). Only the top card of a tableau column or the top card of the reserve is available for play.

4

The Reserve Focus

When a tableau column becomes empty, it is automatically filled by the top card of the reserve. Clearing the reserve pile is the primary path to unblocking the game.

Expert Intelligence

Is Falling Star winnable?
Falling Star has a moderate difficulty level. Success is heavily dependent on how quickly you can empty the reserve pile without burying essential foundation cards.

Building Sequence:
Remember that the tableau uses alternating colors, while the foundations are built strictly by suit. This dual-logic system is what provides the game's depth.
