How to Play

1

Initial Setup

48 cards are dealt into 8 columns (6 cards each). The remaining 4 cards are placed in the first 4 of the 8 reserve cells.

2

Build by Suit

Unlike FreeCell, cards in the tableau must be built down in the same suit (e.g., a 7 of Spades can only be placed on an 8 of Spades).

3

Manage Eight Cells

You have 8 "Free Cells" to store individual cards. Managing these slots is the key to rearranging the tableau and reaching buried cards.

4

Claim Victory

Move all cards to the 4 foundation piles at the top-right, building from Ace up to King by suit.

Common Questions

Is Eight Off harder than FreeCell?
It's a different kind of challenge. While 8 cells provide more storage, the requirement to build by suit (rather than alternating color) makes sequences much harder to create.

Why are some cells already filled?
That's standard for Eight Off. Starting with 4 filled cells forces you to interact with the reserve immediately, setting the stage for a highly logical game.
