How to Play

1

The Double Deck Setup

Using two decks (104 cards), cards are dealt into eight tableau piles. The first cards dealt to the foundations are an Ace and a King of each suit.

2

Parallel Building

You must build four foundations up (Ace to King) and four foundations down (King to Ace) by suit simultaneously. This "double rail" approach is the heart of the game.

3

Tableau Management

In the tableau, you can move cards regardless of suit or color, provided they follow a simple descending or ascending order depending on the specific house rules you select.

4

Clearing the Deck

Draw from the stock to uncover new cards. The game is won when all 104 cards are correctly positioned on the eight foundation rails.

Common Questions

Is it harder than single-deck Solitaire?
It's longer, but often more satisfying. Having eight foundations (up and down) gives you twice as many legal moves at any given time compared to Klondike.

Why is it called "Double Rail"?
The name comes from the two "tracks" each suit takes—one building up from Ace and one building down from King, looking like parallel rails as you fill them.
