How to Play

1

The Twelve Columns

Two decks (104 cards) are used. 12 cards are dealt face-up to form 12 columns, with only one card in each column to start. The rest of the cards stay in the stock.

2

Build by Suit Downward

Tableau columns are built down in the SAME suit. For example, a 9 of Hearts can only be placed on a 10 of Hearts. Only the top card of a column can be moved.

3

Foundations Upward

Aces are moved to the foundations as soon as they appear. Build the eight foundation piles up by suit, from Ace through to King.

4

The Stock Draw

Draw cards one by one from the stock to the waste. You can move any card from the waste to either a foundation or an appropriate tableau column.

Common Questions

How is this different from Forty Thieves?
Forty Thieves deals 40 cards into 10 columns (4 each). Busy Aces is much more approachable, dealing only 12 cards into 12 columns to start, giving you more immediate space to move cards.

Can I move multiple cards together?
No. In Busy Aces, you can only move one card at a time. If you want to move a partial sequence, you must have enough empty columns to shift the cards one by one.
