How to Play

1

The 12-Column Setup

Two full decks (104 cards) are shuffled. Twelve tableau columns are dealt, each containing four face-up cards. The remaining cards form the stock.

2

Building the Foundations

Eight foundation piles are built up by suit, starting from Aces through Kings. You must complete two sets for each suit to win the game.

3

Tableau Movement

Build tableau columns down by alternating color (e.g., a Red 9 on a Black 10). Only the top-most card of any pile is available for movement; sequence moving is generally restricted.

4

Stock and Waste

Deal cards one at a time from the stock to the waste pile. Empty tableau spaces can be filled with any available card, making them your most valuable asset.

Tactical Briefing

Is Brigade harder than Klondike?
Significantly. The two-deck structure and restricted sequence movement mean you must think several steps ahead to avoid blocking your own path.

Top Tip:
Empty spaces are the key to victory. Use them to "shuttle" cards between columns to reach buried Aces or to create longer, organized sequences.
