How to Play

1

The Layout

Using two decks (104 cards), 40 cards are dealt face-up into 10 columns of 4 cards each. All tableau cards are visible and ready for play.

2

Build by Suit

Build your columns downward in the SAME suit (e.g., a 7 of Clubs on an 8 of Clubs). Unlike Forty Thieves, you can move correctly ordered sequences as a unit.

3

Eight Foundations

Build up 8 foundation piles from Ace to King by suit. Moving cards here is the key to clearing the tableau and finding the hidden treasures.

4

Waste & Empty Spaces

Draw cards one by one from the stock. Any card or sequence can be moved into an empty tableau column, providing vital space for reorganization.

Common Questions

How does Ali Baba compare to Forty Thieves?
Ali Baba is generally easier and more strategic. In Forty Thieves, you can only move one card at a time. In Ali Baba, moving sequences makes the game more fluid and winnable.

Is there a limit on empty spaces?
No! You can have as many empty columns as you can clear. Each one acts as a temporary "parking spot" for cards or sequences you need to move later.
